The BGR Model

We’re transparent about our relationships, our expectations and the trust we put into our partnerships

BGR is a model that clearly puts the success of the brand in the hands of its operators – by providing a product and dining experience to which customers will connect.

You are a Key Stakeholder

As a franchisee, you’re more than just an operator — you’re a key stakeholder in building our brand and an influencer in the ongoing development of the BGR.

Simply put, we’re interested in creating the kind of franchise model that we would invest in — which we have, many times over. We’re not interested in selling franchises just to sell franchises. We’re looking to form partnerships with individuals who embrace our model and are enthusiastic about having a hand in shaping it.

With this in mind, we’re clear about our philosophy and the advantages offered to you. Here’s what we value:

1: Simple Operations

Chef-driven, without the chef.

We know the fast casual segment. If your food doesn’t blow people away, you’re never going to get off the ground. You can’t be satisfied with being a “better burger.” You have to be the best . That’s why we work with chefs who develop our award-winning burgers in test kitchens. And the best part is all of this happens outside of your restaurant, meaning you’re working with proven recipes that will inspire and tantalize customers.

All you need is a grill and a passion for the perfect burger.

2: Fool-proof Food

What happens in many restaurants? They build a mouthwatering menu only to deliver subpar food and lackluster experiences. We’ve created a model that delivers consistently delicious burgers and grilled food because we’ve taken care of all the hard work.

We source our ingredients, including produce and seafood, from the freshest sources available, ensuring you’re working with only the best of the best. We can achieve this level of quality because our vendor relationships have enabled us to create a supply chain.

3: A Small Footprint

Conventional wisdom in the restaurant segment used to be that ‘bigger is better’ – that the larger your footprint, the more people you can serve and the greater the profits. The fact of the matter is this – a larger-box restaurant will ultimately be a drain on your operating expenses due to higher:

  • Occupancy Costs
  • Payroll
  • Energy/Utilities

In our experience, we have found that the sweet spot is a small-box format, where you have lower investment costs to deal with and better real estate options.

4: Maximize ROI

The prototypical BGR is between 1,600 and 2,000 square feet – a much more efficient use of space.

A smaller footprint = a smaller upfront investment and lower fixed occupancy costs.

5: A Quality Lifestyle

If you’re from a restaurant background, you’ll be completely at home with our operations—but also completely thrilled with the simplicity of it all. So, even if you’re an existing franchisee or business owner who’s never stepped foot in a kitchen, you’ll hit the ground running taking advantage of a system that works.

On top of that, you’ve got full confidence knowing that you’re working with a supportive system that will do everything it can to help you succeed. And we prize your input; we want entrepreneurs looking to leave their mark, make an individual contribution in the brand. You’re guaranteed pride in product. You’ll never find a burger made with the quality of ingredients as you’ll have the pleasure of serving at your BGR location.

Our operating hours are typically from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. (10 pm on Friday’s and Saturdays). You and your manager need to have time off. Your employees – especially those with a family – appreciate this approach.
